Green Festivals Ahead

Over the next two weekends, you have green fun options.

This weekend there’s a big’un at the Washington DC Convention Center in NW.  It’s the aptly/lamely named Green Festival, and it’ll have food, fancy famous speakers, fair trade booths where you can buy stuff, and reps from green businesses in the area.  Plus admission is $15, and $10 if you’re special!  Head over 10-7 Saturday and 11-6 Sunday.

The speakers look totally awesome, also- at 2 Saturday, William McDonough is speaking about his work on cradle to cradle design, and Sunday Barbara “Nickle and Dimed” Ehrenreich is at 2:00, while Robert Engelman of “More” is up at 4:00.  I still need to review his book for you, err.  Plus Cornel West at some point?  He’s featured, but no mention in the schedule right now.  Oh, also they have eco-tours of local neighborhoods! And live music!

Most fun I’m going to have this weekend for $15, anyway.

If you just can’t get enough, there’s also the Live Green Eco-Feast Saturday 15th November, from 12-4.  They promise mostly food, but also music and local business booths and activities and such.  Their entry is $13 for non-members, but that gets you a membership, too.  It’s at the Art of Living Center on 15th in NW.

It’s almost enough to make me want to wake up before noon, really.  Anyone know any more about some of the Green Festival speakers I should check out?
